I am a dutch/turkish visual artist currently based in Amsterdam and studying at the Gerrit Rietveld academy.
My work stems from a compulsion, an emotion within me that I explore through the act of creation. I find it confronting, yet necessary, to dare to look at myself- what is happening inside. I see creation as a personal growth journey, and I appreciate that art can mean that for me. Ultimately, laying bare such feelings to the outside world, so that others can also identify with them, is what I consider the purpose of my work.
My practice has evolved to involve working with various media: moving images, sound, ceramics, text and photography. An observational look is something that comes back, driven by a sense of curiosity, discovery, realization and learning through everyday life.
