I am a Dutch-Turkish visual artist based in Amsterdam, and a 2024 graduate of the Rietveld Academy. My work explores themes of identity, self-reflection, and human connection through experimental documentaries, soundscapes, and ceramic sculptures.
As a young Turkish-Dutch queer woman, I examine the tensions between my longing for familiarity and the complexities of my multicultural background. Nostalgia plays a key role in my work, as I seek to recreate and reconnect with my past.
For me, creation begins with an inner urge to examine the emotions and questions that linger just beneath the surface of daily life. Art, for me, is a journey of excavation—a way to navigate layers of experience, identity, and emotion. By sharing my vulnerabilities, I aim to foster connection and inspire reflection on universal, often unspoken feelings.
