Queertjes
2025
In my third month at Wieden+Kennedy, I realised something was missing. There was no queer affinity group: no space where queerness could be shared, celebrated, or simply acknowledged. So I started one. It felt small at first, just a handful of us gathering, but it also felt urgent and necessary.
To mark its beginning, I wrote a manifesto. I thought it would just be a practical way of setting the tone, but in the end it became something else: one of the most personal and important things I’ve ever written. It was the first time I had put into words, for myself and for others, what it meant to exist openly and proudly in that space.
It reminded me that writing isn’t only for brands, scripts, or museums -
sometimes it’s the bridge between who you are and the world you’re trying to build.
