Alles wat wankelt
maar niet valt
2025
I have always been afraid of losing my parents, though I’ve never had a concrete reason. The fear was simply there, constant, like a shadow. To understand it I began speaking with the people closest to me. What started as conversations became something larger, a way of tracing how fear and grief move through generations, and how culture shapes the way we mourn. Eventually, these fragments grew into a short film. It is a portrait of three women - my grandmother, my mother, and myself - each suspended in her own way between strength and fragility, between what wavers and what endures.
“Alles wat wankelt, maar niet valt” will be on view from September 2025 through December 2026 at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, as part of the group exhibition A Voice Can Calm a Restless Heart.
